Global Textiles: Suzani

Suzani, which means "needlework," is a beautiful embroidered textile using silk threads and characterized by stylized vine motifs and large flowers. It originates from Uzbekistan in Central Asia.  It's gorgeous on its own or paired with a contrasting print, such as the Madeline Weinrib chevron rug below.
