Karl Lagerfeld Loves the Motherland As Much As I Do

I went to India, or what I refer to as the motherland, two years ago and fell madly in love with Mumbai. It's a city rich in Indian culture and history, but with a definite European influence (thanks, British colonizers!). Karl Lagerfeld so perfectly captures the essence of Mumbai in his Chanel Pre-Fall 2012 collection which debuted on December 6 in Paris. There were embroidered tweeds (of course), metallic jackets and shimmery chiffons - each piece more beautiful than the next.
