French Quarter, Je t'aime

I've noticed that the best bloggers constantly post, and so as not to lose my current loyal readership (hi Jess!), I decided to share some photos from my first day in NOLA.  Today was spent walking up and down the streets of the French Quarter, with stops every so often to nosh on some delicious New Orleans fare - gumbo at K. Paul's,  a muffaletta from Central Grocery and afternoon coffee and beignets at Cafe du Monde, which is where I ran into my friend Dave from New York and his lovely wife Kelli. They spotted me sitting outside about to inhale a pound of powdered sugar (it was not pretty).  That's Dave in the photo below! He's pontificating as to whether or not he should get a to-go bag for the mounds of powdered sugar left on his plate. Sadly, we were so wrapped up in conversation, I forgot to take a photo of the beignets, which looked amazing and tasted even better!

Off to New Orleans!

I so rock this pose on airplanes...

Stacked bangles and me...

...are a match made in heaven.
I get mine from here:

Line to Love: Smythe

Have you ever heard of {Smythe}? The other day, I tried on one of their blazers and immediately fell in love - impeccably tailored and in a beautiful wool fabric, it's hard not to make this Canadian line a definite go-to for classic pieces!

Happy Weekend!

Can't wait for the weekend to start - packing for New Orleans, attending the {New York International Gift Fair} and possibly popping into the KARL by Karl Lagerfeld {pop-up store} on Bleecker Street. Okay, maybe I'll do a little shopping too. I can't help myself.
{similar dress (and for $41 too!): here}

Tobi Tobin

Nightclub impresario turned interior designer {Tobi Tobin} creates sexy, glamorous rooms - think Parisian, but with a rock and roll vibe. And no place epitomizes her style better than her namesake Los Angeles store on the Sunset Strip, natch.
I'm especially obsessed with this antique cast iron daybed.
Every girl needs a vintage Parisian chocolate counter, preferably filled with chocolates.

Layered necklaces.

Sequins!
The store is filled with a mix of vintage and new, all curated by Tobin.
Love these wooden dress forms.
